An investigation has been launched after several birds have been found dead in Lincolnshire. The species found dead include five birds of prey and two magpies.
Lincolnshire Police Wildlife Crime has reported that Detective Constable (DC) Aaron Flint is now appealing for witnesses and information following the discovery of the dead birds. It has also stated that all birds are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act.
It also states that many birds of prey have further special protection on top of the act. As part of the investigation, DC Flint is asking for anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact 101 quoting 22000747007, or by emailing him on aaron.Flint@lincs.police.u
The investigation was reported on the Wildlife Crime’s Twitter at 9.36am on Sunday, January 1 and was retweeted by the Lincolnshire Police Rural Crime Team.A photo was included in the post which appeared to show some torn-off wings of the birds along with other body parts.
