Hull Trains implements revised timetable in response to COVID-19

March 19, 2020 by Grantham Matters Leave a Comment

Hull Trains will implement a revised timetable from Friday 20th March 2020 to keep vital workers travelling on a reliable and resilient rail network in response to COVID-19.

The timetable will include two services a day Southbound and Northbound on Monday to Friday and one service a day at the weekend.

Louise Cheeseman managing director for Hull Trains explained the decision was based on a number of factors.

“Up until now the spread of COVID-19 has not impacted our timetable but now, more than ever, rail is playing a vital role in getting essential staff to hospitals, police stations and all other vital public services,” she said.

“Reducing the number of journeys provides greater reliability and resilience in the network timetable and the Government’s advice to stop non-essential travel and limit social contact has also led to much fewer people using our services.

“We are honoring refunds for cancelled trains. Customers can have a full refund, rebook on an alternative train or travel on another Hull Trains service running the same day, if the ticket is dated for that day of travel.

“Due to the unexpected nature of these changes, there will be no reciprocal ticket acceptance arrangements with other train companies. Full details of our refund policy can be found on our website.

“I want to reassure people who do need to travel that we have an enhanced cleaning regime on all our trains and our people are following rigorous hand hygiene and sanitisation protocols.

“In line with Government advice to limit close contact with passengers we have suspended catering facilities, which we feel is sensible under the circumstances.

“We will continue to monitor the situation daily alongside our industry partners and will follow advice from the Government to keep our customers and our people safe. Please do check on our website www.hulltrains.co.uk and our twitter feed @Hull_Trains before travelling and for information on refunds.”

The new timetable implemented from Friday 20 March 2020 is:

Monday to Friday services:

07:53 from Beverley to London Kings Cross
11:48 from London Kings Cross to Hull
15:08 from Hull to London Kings Cross
18:48 from London Kings Cross to Beverley

Saturday services:

08:24 from Hull to London Kings Cross
11:48 London Kings Cross to Hull

Sunday services:

14:36 from Hull to London Kings Cross
17:48 from London Kings Cross to Beverley

The new timetable will be available at www.hulltrains.co.uk, Twitter: @Hull_Trains, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HullTrains/.
