Yesterday’s litter pick in the Harrowby ward got under way at 10:15 at the bottom of Green Lane, off Belton Lane. Volunteers split into two teams – one heading up Green Lane and turning off at Queensway, while the second went down Ash Grove onto Queensway, down to Princess Drive, before meeting the first team at the end of Goldsmith road.
Both teams then picked along Harrowby Lane, down onto Belton Avenue and finally back to the start along Belton Lane to Green Lane. Between them, they collected nine bags of litter.
Organisers paid tribute to Star Self Storage for providing all the equipment each and every time a pick takes place, and thanked the well-wishers who stopped to say thank you.
