Harrowby U12s Do the Double

May 17, 2026 Leave a Comment

The remarkable young players of Harrowby United U12s have achieved something truly special this season — completing a magnificent league and cup double that will live long in the memory of players, parents and supporters alike.

In grassroots football, success is measured by far more than trophies alone. It is about commitment on cold winter mornings, teamwork forged on muddy pitches, and the determination to keep improving week after week. Harrowby United’s Under-12s have embodied all of those qualities throughout a season that has delivered richly deserved rewards.

Winning the league demands consistency, discipline and resilience over many months. The young squad showed maturity beyond their years, combining attacking flair with defensive determination to finish deserved champions. Every player played their part, whether scoring goals, making crucial tackles, or supporting teammates when matches became difficult.

Yet great teams are remembered for rising to the biggest occasions — and Harrowby United did exactly that in the Challenge Cup final. Cup football brings pressure, excitement and drama, and the team handled it superbly, demonstrating the courage and composure that has defined their campaign from start to finish.

Credit must also go to the coaching staff and volunteers whose hard work behind the scenes has helped create an environment where young players can thrive. Grassroots football depends on dedicated individuals who give up countless hours to organise training, encourage development and instil values that extend far beyond the game itself.

Parents and supporters too deserve recognition for their unwavering backing throughout the season. Their encouragement from the sidelines has undoubtedly helped drive the team forward during key moments.

Most importantly, this achievement belongs to the players themselves. They have represented their club with pride, sportsmanship and togetherness, proving that success comes from collective effort rather than individual glory.

Completing the double is a tremendous accomplishment at any level of football. For a group of young players still developing their skills and love for the game, it is even more impressive. The future looks exceptionally bright for Harrowby United U12s, and this unforgettable season is one they can all be immensely proud of.
