Who has happy memories of this place?

London Road football Ground in 1967 before floodlights were installed. Also still has the ‘scratching shed’ along the north side.

WORK began on the £3,000 covered terracing down the side of London Road football ground in 1967 with the dismantling of the old scratching shed, a low structure with crude earth terracing and an odour of its own. The timbers, despite their age, were found to be in excellent condition. In the background is Harrow Street, whose houses were also on borrowed time.
