Kixx Football Academy Offers Free Fun Day to Celebrate Launch

Nationally recognised children’s football academy, Kixx, is coming to Grantham in June. To celebrate, Kixx South Kesteven will be hosting a fun day on Saturday June 8th at its newly launched Grantham Academy, allowing children to try out Kixx for free and in the words of the owner “encourage more children to get active”.

Kixx South Kesteven is headed up by footballer and Grantham Town’s very own midfielder, Jack McGovern, who after seeing the impact Kixx was having across the country, changed his career path and decided to launch his own Kixx Academies, which includes one right here in Grantham.

The relationship with Jack and the Grantham Town Football Club has also grown even stronger in recent weeks, with Kixx South Kesteven announcing an Official partnership between them both. Although Jack still plays for Grantham Town, he is excited about putting all his efforts on positively impacting the lives of children in the area.

Jack commented: “I decided to call time on my full time playing career recently but I still had the desire to stay in the game and after meeting with Kixx founder, Ben Hunter, I shared the same passion, values and aspirations, so the timing and opportunity was perfect.

“That doesn’t mean I won’t be making an appearance or three for Grantham Town, we shall see, I love the game, playing for this club, but I want to give everything this next chapter everything.

“The partnership between Kixx South Kesteven and Grantham Town Football Club is going to be really exciting and I’d like to thank the chairman, Nigel Wedgwood, for helping form this collaboration, which is going to help more children get active, from an early age.

“Kixx truly offers a world class coaching programme, that has helps over 10,000 children nationwide, every single week. Every single person truly cares about making a difference, so you could say I’m absolutely delighted to be a part of this, and very excited to be launching a Kixx Academy right here in Grantham.

“To celebrate we would love to see as many children aged between 2-6 years old on Saturday 8th of June to enjoy our free fun day and a Kixx Academy session. It’s going to be a great place for children to get active, make friends and just have great fun.”

Jack and Kixx South Kesteven will also be launching other Kixx academies in Melton Mowbray and Stamford during June.

To book your child on the Kixx Academy Free Fun Day which takes place on June 8th at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre, Trent Rd, Grantham; you can register via the messaging the Facebook page ‘Kixx South Kesteven’, or by emailing Jack McGovern directly on jack@kixx.org.uk.
