Bridge works and surfacing remedial works have been completed at the new A1 bridge.
What we achieved in July
Phase Two
- Carried out bridge joint remedial works and surfacing remedial works at the new A1 bridge
Phase Three
- West side of site – completed ‘pull test’ on Pier 1
- East side of site – excavation and pile cropping to Pier 5 / continued piling to the east abutment
What’s happening in August
Phase Three
- West side of site – begin removal of the surcharge to the west abutment
- East side of site – piling east abutment / Pier 5 blinding and formwork, reinforcement and concrete works
Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures
- Lane restrictions around the B1174 Roundabout to facilitate the construction of the haul route and access into site

Perhaps if the council had not allowed the building of hundreds and hundreds of houses and importing thousands of people to come and live in Grantham perhaps, just perhaps Grantham would not need a Southern Relief Road as there would not be the traffic on the roads. Just another Lincolnshire town ruined by Council members vanity.
