Isaac Newton Primary School pupils proved to be a class act when colleagues from The Nottingham’s Grantham branch visited to lead a lesson in looking after their money.
Branch Manager Sophie Beck and Customer Services Assistant Faith Redmile-Hayes dropped in to see what the youngsters know about spending versus saving.
Two groups of 30 children took part in a session on ‘needs versus wants’ and lots of interactive conversation around the importance of saving for the future. Arrangements are being made for another visit to the school in the autumn.
Sophie said: “The classes seemed to thoroughly enjoy the session and were all very happy with the certificate and activity books we gave them to take home.
“We were really impressed by their willingness to learn and their sensible approach to money – which bodes really well for their futures. At The Nottingham we are passionate about financial education and planning so it was great to hear them talk about how it’s important to get into good savings habits from an early age.”
Isaac Newton Headteacher Chris Heathcote added: “A big thank you to The Nottingham’s Grantham branch team for giving up their time to come and work with us – the sessions were great. We are looking forward to them visiting us again in the new school year.”
