REMEMBERING GRANTHAM DURING WW2 – 18th September – TALK & CONCERT WITH SINGALONG
During WW2 Grantham’s civilians and military personnel played a vital role and our town paid a heavy price. Grantham Remembers is organising an event to commemorate that period and to provide an opportunity to relive that wartime spirit which saw people through.
Please find attached a flyer with the details of our ‘Grantham Remembers WWII – Talk and Concert with Singalong‘ taking place on Friday 18th September from 6pm at St John;s Church, Station Road East, Grantham.
Refreshments and a Licensed bar will be available. Proceeds to St John’s Church fund.
Any proceeds from raffle ticket sales and flags to St John’s Church and the Royal British Legion.
The event is part of Heritage Week and in partnership with St John’s Church and we are delighted to be supported by Lincolnshire Fire Aid – vintage engines and our other participants with details outlined below:-
Doors open: 5:45pm
6pm – Grantham in WW2 Talk by Dr John Manterfield – Author and local historian
7pm – INTERVAL and Exhibition
7:30PM – Concert with Singalong with Helen Winter soloist and musical director, and, St John’s Winter Singers – and Yourselves!
Period costumes are welcome to be worn too! Guests are free to make their own or Cinderella’s on London Road has a range of costumes for hire.
