Gareth Davies, MP for Grantham, Stamford and Bourne, visited businesses across the constituency on Friday, as part of a tour organised by InvestSK, South Kesteven’s economic growth and regeneration company

The visit was also attended by Cllr Kelham Cooke, Chairman of InvestSK and Leader of South Kesteven District Council, Steve Bowyer, CEO of InvestSK, and Jon Hinde, Head of Economy and Skills at InvestSK.

The tour highlighted the strength and diversity of the local economy and its companies, and the value, and growth potential, of international trade for the area.

Companies featured during the visit included Microcapture in Grantham, Sophie Allport in Bourne, Bright Lite Structures in Stamford and Airblast Eurospray in Langtoft.

Microcapture, based on Swingbridge Road, creates specialist motion-activated fragrances which they sell all over the world for use on consumer products including Kleenex tissue.

Each of the companies showcased their extensive products and services, and shared issues that are key to their business’ continued success, with infrastructure, workforce skills and trade links all discussed as priority areas.

Gareth Davies MP, said: “The tour provided a fascinating insight into some of the many great businesses trading successfully from our area.

“I am always hugely impressed, not only by the entrepreneurial spirit that is evident here, but also by the tremendous opportunities that lie ahead for our local companies. That is why securing international trade deals globally is so important and why I’ll continue to highlight our area as an economic powerhouse, right at the heart of government.”

Councillor Kelham Cooke, echoed those views: “I’ve always recognised the importance of local companies in driving our economic growth agenda: the more successful those businesses are, the greater the jobs growth and levels of prosperity across the district.

“I am grateful to Gareth for joining us today, and for representing his constituency so strongly in parliament, and to InvestSK for their work in supporting local business growth.”

Steve Bowyer, CEO of InvestSK, “Fundamentally, InvestSK is here to help all and any businesses to grow in South Kesteven, whatever their size. We do that by getting to know our local companies, so that we can better understand both the challenges and opportunities they face, and provide the right support where it’s needed most.”

InvestSK is South Kesteven’s economic growth and regeneration company. Its focus is to support businesses to grow and attract new companies to move to the district.
