The mayor of Grantham discovered more about the importance of caring for one of our most important senses during a visit to an independent hearing practice in the town.
Cllr Dean Ward visited Correct Hearing’s summer open day on Wednesday 4 August where he met audiologist Namra Hussain and hearing care assistant Polly Hallam, and had a full hearing assessment carried out.
Grantham mayor Cllr Dean Ward said: “It was wonderful to find out more about the role that good hearing plays in our wider health and wellbeing, and to have a hearing assessment with Namra. I was due to attend the official opening of Correct Hearing’s Grantham practice last year but the event had to be cancelled because of the first lockdown, so it was great to finally call in and see them.”
Namra Hussain, audiologist at Correct Hearing in Grantham, said: “If you’re putting up with poor hearing, it can impact on your ability to socialise, communicate with family and friends, or even to work. In fact, unaddressed hearing loss in mid-life is a major factor in the risk of dementia, so it’s important to have a regular hearing assessment to make sure everything’s OK.”
The Correct Hearing practice in The George Centre, Grantham, opened in February 2020. The practice delivers a comprehensive range of audiological tests and treatments, including hearing assessments, hearing aid fittings, wax removal and tinnitus treatments.
