British number 1 armwrestler, Grantham’s James Wall, has over the past year, seen his sport gain huge popularity with famous strongman like Eddie Hall and Brian Shaw now competing.
Recently, Laurence Shahlaei famously known as Big Loz, a multiple UK and European Strongest man asked to come and train with James which was an absolute honour.
James said: “We armwrestled for about 3 hours, working out the techniques best suited for him.
“His strength is obviously off the charts, but we are formulating a plan so he can switch that strength over to armwrestling because it’s very different and complex. He’s already a Novice British Champion in the sport but he wants to take it to the next level and mix with the Pro’s and hopefully internationally where the level is a lot higher.
“He’s got huge potential and I’m looking forward to training with him again.”
James’ armwrestling gym is based on Swinegate and they train on Tuesdays at 5pm and Saturdays at 3pm.
He said: “We’ve got a team of about 15 in Grantham now and we are hosting a big competition on Saturday 8th Feb at the Squash Club in Grantham for anyone that wants to test themselves or just come and watch professional armwrestlers in action!”
