Micronclean has announced its decision to exit the Heavy Industrial Workwear sector, agreeing to transfer its current order book to Lindström
Micronclean has announced its decision to exit the Heavy Industrial Workwear sector, serviced through its Grantham facility on Swingbridge Road.
As part of this strategic shift, the company has agreed to transfer its current order book to Lindström, with the transaction to be finalised in the coming weeks.
Micronclean’s Grantham site will then cease its operations. The decision to withdraw from this market was made after careful consideration and reflects Micronclean’s commitment to focusing on its core areas.
Despite the exceptional efforts of the Grantham team in achieving strong sales, delivering high levels of service and improving operational efficiencies over the years, the company determined that it could not sustain its market position into the future.
“It is never easy to decide to close a facility, especially one that has been integral to our business since its opening in 1989,” said Greg Cochran, Director at Micronclean.
In Lindström, they have a service-focused supply partner to grow alongside into the future
“I would like to personally thank our Grantham staff for their hard work, dedication, and the high-quality service they have consistently provided to our customers. And I’d like to thank our loyal customers for their business over the years. In Lindström, they have a service-focused supply partner to grow alongside into the future.”
While the closure marks the end of an era, it is a necessary step in preparing Micronclean for continued growth and success. This strategic shift enables the company to concentrate on cleanroom markets, its core focus.
Moving into 2025, this will include expanding output of cleanroom consumables from the new Micronclean Assembly facility and accelerating the development of its Cleanroom Cleaning and MicronLab business.
Additionally, it supports Micronclean’s plans to invest in a zero-carbon cleanroom laundry facility as part of its new campus site.
