Grantham-based BGB Engineering has recently started what hopes to be a long-term partnership with West Grantham Church of England Secondary Academy, formerly , supporting six engineering students with onsite placement.
The students have been assigned a school task that incorporates learning manual processes and skills found in an engineering environment. BGB, on Dysart Road, will help with their learning of engineering skills and train them to complete the project.
So far, students have enjoyed being trained by our Toolroom engineer Tyler Kenny, who has been showing them the basics of manual turning and milling.
The young students are learning basic engineering tasks to prepare themselves for what hopes to be a future in engineering. So far they’ve really enjoyed their time with us, and we foresee the partnership leading to students transitioning to future apprentices and employees.
