Georgie Proctor and Emma Bishop travelled to ceremony in London to collect prizes
Two creative Art and Design students have had their work recognised in a national packaging design competition.
Georgie Proctor and Emma Bishop submitted their creations to the Starpack Industry Awards, which encourages young people to take up careers in eco-friendly and eye-catching packaging design.
Georgie’s bread loaf packaging was rated as ‘highly commended’, while Emma’s spray paint can design won a gold star and sponsor’s award in its category.
The results were announced at an awards ceremony in London.
The representatives from Grantham College competed against students at university level in the competition.
Wendy Turner, the students’ tutor on their Level 3 Art and Design course, said she was impressed with the performance of her learners.
She said: “I’m very proud that Georgie and Emma have achieved a Starpack award. It’s a massive achievement.
“It’s something that will get their foot in the door and stand them in good stead for the future.”
Georgie plans to head to university upon completion of her course, while Emma is staying with the college to study at degree level.
