Grantham College has announced another record breaking year for results.
Today’s figures show students funded to study A Levels at the college, 98% of them achieved their A Level, with 17 of the 19 subjects offered having 100% student achievement.
This demonstrates what an excellent place Grantham College is to study A Levels.
Those students who have been studying BTEC courses have had their results coming in since the beginning of the Summer, being marked separately from A-Levels.
These have seen students gaining triple distinctions (equivalent to AAA at A-Levels) in Health & Social Care, Art & Design, IT, Science and Travel & Tourism.
Given that the excellent results span such a breadth of curriculum areas is testament to the dedication and hard work of both the students and staff – and demonstrates the value of the College’s industry-trained staff.
Chief Executive of Grantham College, Linda Houtby is proud of the achievements.
She said: “I would like to congratulate all of our students including those receiving A Level, BTEC and GCSE results.
“ Several thousand students have achieved a qualification of some sort over the last academic year with the college.
“Many have gained vocational qualifications which are highly regarded by employers and higher education institutions and increasingly we are seeing young people make a positive decision to undertake apprenticeships.
“The opportunity to earn whilst you learn and gain technical and employability skills are seen as a positive choice whilst still allowing part-time study at a high level.
“The results of the National Student Survey for Higher Education published yesterday showed that Grantham College was 1 of only 8 institutions in the country to receive a 100% student satisfaction rating for the quality of our University level courses taught at the college.
“This is an outstanding achievement demonstrating that Grantham College is an excellent choice for those wanting to study university level courses.
“Congratulations to all our HE staff on this hard earned result which is a testament to your dedication and student focus.”
A few of the college’s many success stories this year include:
- Matt Ivey who achieved A*AA grades and will be studying Physics at the University of Nottingham who said “College has been the best time of my life. The teaching is fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for anything better!”
- Vasiliki Ntalampira who achieved A*AB grades will be studying Management Sciences at Loughborough University.
- Darcy Munn who achieved D*D*D* (triple distinction BTEC) in Travel & Tourism and is the best result the staff have ever had.
