A home care service that goes ‘above and beyond’ and ‘enables people to feel safe and live their best life’ is how PerCurra Grantham & Newark is described in the the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) recent report.
In its first inspection by the CQC, care at home provider PerCurra Grantham & Newark has been rated Good in all five categories; safe, effective, caring responsive and well-led. The report, published this month, includes praise from users of the service and their relatives as well as from staff and external care professionals. Most of the branch staff have many years of care behind them and described the organisation as being the best they had worked for. Clients’ relatives could not speak highly enough of the care delivery.
The report also states that ‘People, relatives, staff and professionals were all very positive about the engagement the provider and team had with everyone, describing it as inclusive, comprehensive and supportive. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice’.
Branch owner Andrew White said: “I am absolutely delighted by the content of the CQC Inspector’s report. Delivering excellence in care to our clients, in their own homes, is a group effort by the whole team and I see this report as acknowledgement of our staff’s dedication, professionalism and empathy. I would like to thank everyone who was interviewed by the Inspector. We have a talented, caring team here and, with our minimum call duration being one hour, staff have the time to develop great relationships with our clients.”
The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. It ensures services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care. This is done through regular monitoring, inspections and rating of the services.
