Duncan & Toplis has appointed Peter Wilson as the new managing director of Castlegate Financial Management, the group’s financial advice and wealth management division.
He succeeds Andy Severn, who played a key role in the company’s formation in 1994 and has served as managing director for the past nine years.
Severn will remain within the Grantham-based Duncan & Toplis group as a business services director, continuing to support his portfolio of clients.
Wilson brings extensive experience in strategic leadership and financial services, having held senior roles at Legal & General Investment Management and Flying Colours Financial Advice.
He has also collaborated with Her Majesty’s Treasury and the Financial Conduct Authority, contributing to the UK Financial Capability Strategy.
Beyond finance, Wilson has held leadership positions at Kettle Foods, Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline.
He is also the chair of Medair, an international humanitarian organisation operating in crisis-affected regions.
Wilson said: “It’s exciting to join the Duncan & Toplis group as managing director of Castlegate Financial Management. I’ll bring my passion to see lives transformed through bespoke client-focused financial planning and advice, helping to further enhance the company’s growth during this next period. My previous roles have seen me lead on transformative improvements in client experience and adviser leadership, as well as innovation in investment management with the largest pension provider in the UK.
