Two sisters have tidied up their neighbourhood by grabbing some tools and getting down to work to clear away weeds.
Energetic April and Disney Price, aged six and four, asked to help their dad Chris weed a pathway linking two streets near their home at Harris Way, Grantham.
Their impressive volunteer work has won praise from residents and passers-by, according to their proud dad.
Chris said: “A lot of people use the walkway. We know that council resources are stretched with the Coronavirus so we decided to get on and tackle it ourselves.
“The children always ask to help with whatever I’m doing. People have said what a good job they’ve done and it only took a couple of hours a day over two days.
“They have also posted a note on the bins for the crews and made a poster for the NHS – they’re getting involved with everything.”
Cabinet Member for Commercial and Operations, Cllr Dr Peter Moseley, said: “It’s really encouraging to see children so young have such a sense of community spirit and pride in where they live.
“Some of our staff who normally carry out the Big Clean have been redeployed to keep vital services such as the bin collections running, so we’re very grateful for the support of Chris and the girls.”
