Lincolnshire Co-op colleagues will be swapping their day jobs to look after the local environment as part of the Society’s annual Co-op Spring Clean. People from the community are also being encouraged to pitch in at 14 locations across Lincolnshire and Newark.
Together with local environmental groups and councils, they’ll be cleaning up outdoor areas by litter picking, freshening up facilities, painting fences and improving popular nature trails.
All the clean ups will last between two to five hours and you don’t have to be a Lincolnshire Co-op member to join.
For most clean ups booking is not essential, and volunteers are simply asked to arrive at the meeting point on the day. Here are the events you can turn up to:

Lincolnshire Co-op Community Co-ordinator Danielle Budworth said “We’re excited to get stuck into some volunteering projects in our communities to help look after our local environment.
“This year is our biggest yet and we’re joining onto lots of clean ups that have been organised by local green groups and councils across Lincolnshire and Newark. Our aim is to get some of our colleagues to lend a hand at these events as well as spread the word and get more of the public involved.
“We’re going to more events than ever before and we can’t wait to help these groups so that they can continue to make a positive difference to the environment in our communities.”
