Garden centres reopening well received

The opening of Grantham’s garden centres went down a storm since Wednesday.

There was a steady flow of customers all day.

Claire Parker of Oldrids Downtown, Gonerby Moor, said: “It was great to see everyone as we’ve really missed serving the lovely people of Grantham!

“And there was a great atmosphere as our customers enjoyed stocking up on their vital garden supplies.

“We’ve worked hard to ensure shopping at Downtown Garden Centre is very safe, there are two-metre markings throughout the store, the trolleys and baskets are sanitised between customers and the key touch points throughout the space are sanitised regularly through the day.

“Our cash desks have been re spaced and there are perspex screens. The key is to ensure everyone can shop and work without being put at any risk and we feel we’ve managed this well, hopefully, especially with the weather improving, we’ll be able to welcome even more visitors this weekend.”
