Flooding Roadshows taking place across Lincolnshire

The County Council is hitting the road to offer you practical advice and support to be better prepared for flooding.

Flooding affects far more than buildings; it disrupts routines, impacts finances, and can have a significant effect on emotional wellbeing. Worry, stress and uncertainty can continue long after the water has gone.

As part of Project Groundwater Greater Lincolnshire, local organisations are coming together for a series of roadshows to provide practical flooding advice and mental health support under one roof, helping individuals, families and communities feel informed, connected, and physically and emotionally prepared.

Executive member for Environment at Lincolnshire County Council, cllr Danny Brookes said: “As councillors, we talk about flooding a lot and the things that need to happen to prevent it – it’s a high priority for our council. But this piece of work is about real action. These roadshows will help our communities and individual residents to be prepared in case it happens, and to put things in place that reduce the impacts of flooding.”

Visitors can drop in at any time to speak with professionals, ask questions and gather resources to help them protect both their home and their wellbeing.

The roadshows will take place from 2pm to 7pm, on:

Monday 16 February at Coronation Hall, Wainfleet
Thursday March 12 at The Ropewalk, Maltkiln Rd, Barton-upon-Humber
Tuesday 28 April at Boston Football Club
Tuesday 14 May at Church of Ascension, Edinburgh Road, Grantham
Thursday 4 June at New Life Church, Sleaford
Wednesday 24 June at Moorland, Lincoln
Thursday 9 July at Cleethorpes Memorial Hall
Tuesday 14 July at New Life Church, Market Rasen

The events combine guidance from a range of organisations who support during flooding with services that promote mental health, community resilience, and recovery.

Project Groundwater Greater Lincolnshire is funded by Defra as part of the £200m Flood and Coastal Innovation Programmes, which is managed by the Environment Agency.
