Five vehicle crash shuts road

A crash involving five vehicles has closed part of the A17 this afternoon (Tuesday). The crash was first reported shortly before 3.30pm.

Police said that the closure is in place at Leadenham. They have asked people to avoid the area if possible.

Other emergency services are on the scene. It’s unknown if there have been any injuries.

Lincolnshire Police said: “Road closed: we are on scene with other emergency services at a five-vehicle collision at the A17 at Leadenham. Road closures are currently being put in place, please avoid the area if you can.

“This was reported at 3.25pm. We’ll let you know more when we can.”

Inrix traffic monitoring system said: “A17 in both directions blocked, queueing traffic due to multi-vehicle accident near the Lincoln turn off. Affecting traffic between Newark and Sleaford.”
