
Police efforts to tackle the illegal pursuit of hares continues because they are aware this criminal activity causes real concern to our rural communities.
Five people have been arrested, following reports of hare coursing, by officers from Specialist Operations teams.
Two boys aged 11 and 15 and three men aged 23, 38 and 41 years, all from out of the county were arrested after their car crashed into a ditch on the Lincoln Road at Digby, near Sleaford, shortly before midnight on Tuesday 18 February.
Along with the five arrests, five dogs were also seized. The investigation is very much ongoing.

Hare coursing is barbaric and we will continue to arrest offenders, seize their dogs, and cars and put them before the courts to halt their illegal activities with Criminal Behaviour Orders. Extensive damage can be caused by hare coursers to crops and fields causing untold loss to farmers.
Thousands of pounds can change hands as illegal betting takes place on the coursing abilities of dogs. Often hare coursing is a cover for scouting trips for other illegal activity.
We appeal to anyone who witnesses hare coursers to call our Force Control Room on 101 sharing as much detail about cars, locations, those involved as possible.
