The gardens at Grantham House will be bustling with a fantastic range of day and evening entertainment this summer. From outdoor theatre to live music, artisan fairs, yoga retreats, art workshops and guided tours, there is so much to enjoy throughout July and August at this free-to-enter National Trust gem, right on Grantham’s doorstep.
A packed programme of theatre on the lawn kicks off on Sunday 26 July as Folksy Theatre presents love, laughter, and a little bit of lunacy in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Just a few days later, on Thursday 30 July, audiences will be transported to the round table for Arthurian adventure and medieval mayhem in the Three Inch Fools’ King Arthur and the Holy Fail.

The fun continues as Rain or Shine Theatre Company bring to life the chaotically Dickensian world of The Pickwick Papers on Saturday 15 August while Beckis Cooper, who recently performed to great applause at Belton Estate, will be taking on Shakespeare’s female characters in her one-woman play Unversed on Saturday 29 August.
Grantham House’s popular monthly markets, showcasing local handcrafted and home-baked treats, will continue throughout the summer on Sunday 19 July and 16 August. They’ll be joined by the Artisan Brocante Summer Fair on Saturday 1 August which will see a fantastic selection of vintage and artisan stalls stationed around the gardens alongside food from Chapel House Pizza.
One of the biggest events of the year will be taking place on Sunday 9 August as the Community Showcase returns for a second year. In 2025, 750 people came to enjoy local musicians and performers, and this year these include Circus Starlight, Bonnets and Breeches Dance Society, pianists, guitarists, choirs, a cappella folk singers and more.

Henry Cutten, Community, Participation and Volunteering Manager at Grantham House, said: ‘Having opened for the first time last year, we’re really getting into the swing of things now. It’s very special to be right in the heart of Grantham and able to offer people lots of entertainment which they don’t have to travel far to enjoy. It’s been great to see audiences grow for our Monthly Markets and regular activities, and we hope that people will really appreciate all the wonderful summer events we’ve programmed in.’
Other events taking place over the next two months include a yoga and mindfulness day retreat with Grow Your Wings Yoga on Sunday 26 July, relaxing and immersive experiences led by sound therapist Zaff from Sacred Feathers Healing on 16 July and 13 August, and a drawing and watercolour workshop with local artist Vanessa Stone on Wednesday 19 August.
Grantham House offers free entry to everyone and runs free garden tours every Thursday and guided history talks on Fridays, both at 11am and 1pm.
