Manners, Emma (b1963)
Emma Watkins was the daughter of a Welsh farmer and owner of Radnor Hills Mineral Water Company.
She went to boarding school then won a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to train as an opera singer, but dropped out before graduating.
She had several jobs including estate agent, land agent and tour guide before becoming an interior designer.
In June 1992 she married the the 11th Duke of Rutland and moved into Belvoir Castle
The couple have five children: Lady Violet Diana Louise Manners (b 1993), Lady Alice Louisa Lilly Manners (b 1995), Lady Eliza Charlotte Manners (b 1997), Charles John Montague, Marquess of Granby (b 1999), Lord Hugo William James Manners (b 2003).
In 2012, the couple decided to go their separate ways, each retaining their own quarters in Belvoir Castle.
The Duchess runs the commercial activities of Belvoir Castle, including shooting parties, weddings and a range of furniture.
