Saturday saw 20 volunteers out on the downstream section of Grantham Rivercare’s adopted stretch of the River Witham and nearby areas for our 108th group clean up.
With brilliant weather (as always on RiverCare) they collected over 4 bags of recyclables (60 plastic bottles, 32 glass bottles, 39 cans) along with 11 bags of general rubbish.
As always we unfortunately picked up 4 face masks.
Larger items were such as old bikes, traffic cone, bed frame, multiple pieces of wood and power tools.
They were also joined by the local Morrisons Grantham Community Champion Sue Healey who joined in with the riverside team.
Rivercare are very grateful to Morrisons and Sue for donating refreshments to us a few months ago so our volunteers can enjoy a hot or cold drink with the delicious homemade cakes made by the #riverheroes
