Duchess the podcast returns for a fourth season: ‘At Home’ with the Duchess of Rutland from Belvoir Castle where the family have lived in an unbroken line for almost a thousand years. Season four will transport you to the fairy-tale stately home, we’ll hear from spectacular guests about Belvoir’s illustrious history and the hard work that goes into keeping Belvoir thriving in 21st century.

We’ve learned so much about the nature of custodianship and enjoyed travelling the length and breadth of the country visiting the UK’s finest private heritage houses. In this 6-part Limited Series, Her Grace will guide listeners through an exciting behind-the-scenes audio experience around her own home – Belvoir Castle. The name Belvoir – meaning “beautiful view” in French and pronounced today as “beaver” – dates to Norman times.
From the history and architecture to chilling ghost stories and tales of the Manners Family through the ages, we’ll learn how it came to be, why its pronounced ‘beaver’ and the reason behind the families long held belief that Belvoir’s silhouette was the inspiration behind non-other than Walt Disney’s Disney castle.
