Lincolnshire Police Rural Crime Action Team says…

We are often criticised, more often by hare coursers and poachers as to why we ‘HARASS’ them.. Policing is all about harassing criminals and reports like this mean we go out of our way to HARASS them even more.
For the critics that don’t know.. The sort of criminal involved in such offences is also a burglar, thief, domestic abuse perpetrator, animal abuser, drug dealer, kidnapper, commit offences against the person, We have even locked up hare coursers with a history of committing sex crimes.
This is why we target them. We may not have the evidence to prosecute a hare courser for one of the above crimes but we always have the evidence to prosecute the lesser non recordable crimes such as hare coursing.
One of today’s jobs..
Officers are investigating a significant amount of damage caused to farm crops in the Temple Bruer area, believed to have been caused during the evening of Sunday 11th January 2026.
It is suspected to have been caused by poachers driving a 4X4 vehicle across farm fields doing doughnuts and chasing wildlife.
They also drove through a sheep fence resulting in sheep escaping which could have been a risk to nearby road users.
This sort of damage causes a great deal of distress to busy farmers and happens in many different parts of the county.
This is not acceptable and offenders if caught will be dealt with robustly and put through the courts.
If anyone witnessed any suspicious vehicles covered in mud in the Temple Bruer or Cranwell area please get in touch quoting incident number 0303 13/01/2026.
