BBC1’s Crimewatch programme will feature a 21-year-old Grantham murder tonight (Tuesday).
Lincolnshire police will take part in the programme at 9pm following new developments in a 20-year-old murder case.
It will review Grantham the murder of Julie Pacey , the 38-year-old mum, was found dead in the bathroom of her home in Longcliffe Road by her teenage daughter.
She had been sexually assaulted and strangled.
Now Lincolnshire Police have they will spearhead a new appeal for information on the TV show. Several witnesses, including residents on Manthorpe estate, have been re-interviewed recently.
A police spokesman said: “Footage from the original Crimewatch, filmed not long after Julie’s murder, will be used in the programme, along with new footage explaining the development in the case.
“It is hoped that by reaching a large national audience new information may come to light that has not previously done .”
Mrs Pacey worked at St Peter’s Day Nursery, St Catherine’s Road, which has since been demolished and replaced by Martin’s Court. It was across the road from the then police station, Stonebridge.
In July of that year, Sharon Harper (21) was found strangled in shrubbery, on the former Shepherd Construction car park , Earlesfield Lane. She disappeared after working a Friday night shift as a barmaid at the Market Cross (later Barcode) in Westgate.
Also that year, Crimewatch broadcast a reconstruction of the Julie Dart murder, whose body was found at Easton, near PAS, in 1991, leading to the capture of Michael Sams.
