Lincolnshire County Council Reform UK’s leadership has spent £1,135.85 of public money to make parking more comfortable – for themselves.
The four reserved bays at County Hall, Lincoln, previously used by senior council members, have been reduced to three. Why? To give the Reform UK Leader and Deputy Leader more room to park
their oversized SUVs, the Conservative Group has revealed.
While many drivers understand the challenges of parking larger vehicles, this decision raises
serious questions. Is this the first meaningful action taken by Reform UK since taking control in
May – to spend over £1,100 on personal convenience?
A Conservative spokesperson said: “Reform UK promised to cut wasteful spending. Yet their first move is to spend public money on expanding their own private parking bays. This is exactly the kind of waste they claimed to oppose. We call on Councillor Matthews to reimburse the full cost to the Lincolnshire taxpayer.
“This isn’t leadership. It’s self-interest – paid for by you.”
