National charity Guide Dogs is calling upon budding retailers who live in Lincolnshire, who can offer their skills and a few hours of time as a Volunteer Merchandise Coordinator.
Anyone interested in the role will need to have good communication skills, be comfortable talking to members of the public and be able to commit to at least one day a month. Responsibilities include monitoring, ordering and organising the storage and visual display of Guide Dogs merchandise. Keeping local shops stocked as requested and receiving, checking and pricing goods. Guidance and support is provided from a dedicated Volunteer Manager.
Fundraising Volunteer Gabbie says: “I’ve been the Merchandise Coordinator for my local fundraising group for eight years. I take great pride in the way I display the merchandise and I get an enormous amount of satisfaction when we have a successful day. When I look back at the end of each year, it is gratifying to know what a huge impact the merchandising has on the group, the region and Guide Dogs.”
If you think you have what it takes to be a key member of a Fundraising group local to you, there are currently Merchandise Coordinators needed in Grantham, Boston, Scunthorpe and Skegness. You will need to be 16 years of age, willing to undergo a basic induction and have access to email. If you would like more information about the role or volunteering for Guide Dogs, contact Community Fundraising Development Officer, Jane Shelley at the Nottingham office on 0345 143 0221 or email: Jane.Shelley@guidedogs.org.uk
