The Ministry of Defence (MOD) will be hosting community drop-in events in November 2024 to discuss the next stages of consultation on the future of Prince William of Gloucester barracks in Grantham.
The site is due to be vacated by the Army in 2029, and the local community is being invited to find out more about potential ideas for its future use through consultation on a masterplan for the site.
Following initial consultation held in 2021, the MOD would like to update the community on the next stages and set out how we will consult on the plans to ensure we are involving local residents in the planning process.
Local residents are welcome to attend community drop-in sessions on Friday 22nd November between 4pm – 7.30pm and Saturday 23rd November between 10am – 2pm at Grantham Cricket Club.
Further community engagement and consultation on the masterplan itself will be held in 2025 as the proposals are progressed.
Paul Harvey, from the MOD said: “We are looking forward to continuing our conversations with the community. The barracks is a big part of the local area, and we want to make sure we are talking to residents about its future, so that it continues to have a meaningful use when the army leaves in 2029.”
We want to ensure that any future planning supports aspirations for development in the area.”
