Constance Audrey Dodd (Connie) passed away peacefully at Belvoir House Care Home on 26th November 2024, aged 98 years. Beloved mother to the late Julia and a cherished figure in Gavin’s life, as well as a devoted grandmother in all but name to James. Connie was a fiercely independent spirit with a cracking sense of humour. She is now reunited with Julia, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A passionate gardener, Connie found joy and tranquillity among her flowers, tending to them with care and pride. She loved meeting friends in town, sharing stories and laughter over coffee. Before her retirement, Connie took particular pride in her work at The King’s Hotel, where she organised memorable children’s parties which brought joy to many. A true adventurer at heart, Connie travelled widely across Britain, Europe, and even as far as Australia, embracing the richness of life and forging cherished memories along the way. Her warmth, wit, and unique personality touched the lives of a wide circle of friends, each of whom had the privilege of experiencing her remarkable qualities. In accordance with Connie’s wishes, a private celebration of her life will be held for her closest friends at a later date. |
