The first Lincolnshire Energy Conference has been held in Lincoln – a pivotal event, designed to help shape the future of energy generation and supply.
With national and international speakers on topics that prompted debate and discussion, the conference looked at the energy challenges and opportunities for businesses in the county and beyond.
Key speakers include Cordi O’Hara, President of National Grid UK Electricity Distribution and Sir John Peace, Chair of Midlands Engine.
Organised by Lincolnshire County Council, this landmark conference took place on 25 February 2025 at the University of Lincoln.
Councillor Colin Davie, the council’s executive councillor for economy, environment and planning was the driving force behind the conference. He said: “This conference was a huge success and was a unique opportunity for business leaders to come together, explore innovative solutions, and drive the important conversations about energy.
“Our region clearly has a vital role to play in shaping the future of energy in the UK. The event heard what is realistically needed to ensure an affordable, resilient and sustainable energy future, and the investment and innovation already underway.”
Sir John Peace, Chair of Midlands Engine, said: “Today’s event was a real call to action for organisations and businesses to collaborate across Lincolnshire and the Midlands.
“We have all recognised today how important energy security is but it’s a wake up call that we need to do more to ensure we have the energy supply for inclusive growth and investment for our children’s future.”
