Former Therapeutic Counselling student now works to protect young people, alongside running her own clinic
A former student has explained how Grantham College provided her with the platform to begin her flourishing career in counselling and psychotherapy.
Lurdes Webb, who left the college in 2017, studied the “very rewarding” Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling course after deciding to return to education.
She now holds the position of Lead for Children and Young People in the social services team at Lincolnshire County Council.
In addition, Lurdes manages her own private practice where she frequently assists with clients’ mental health issues.
She said she is “passionate about both her roles”, and that she is thankful to her tutor Caroline Stafford for helping her progress to where she is now.
Lurdes believes the course she studied has a wide-ranging impact. She said: “If you want to change peoples’ lives, you should do this course.
“Counselling changes you as a person for the better.”
