Charlie Digan is only six years old but loves football and martial arts.
And although he still awaits the call from Roy Hodgson, for just over a year he’s been training with the BCKA kickboxing team.
He trains in his home town Grantham and also travels to Corby, Northants once a fortnight to train with the England kickboxing squad.
The Barkston & Syston School pupil is the youngest ever team member in its 20 year history.
Charlie takes his training very seriously and works very hard to perfect his skills.
He said: “When I’m not hitting pads he loves to spar with other children within the Association who are normally bigger, and always older than me.
“This coming October 2015 I have an opportunity to represent the England World Karate and Kickboxing team (WKC), to compete at the WKC World championships in Portugal.
“This would be my dream to become a world champion and represent my country at something that I enjoy so much.
“I would be so grateful for any contributions towards my trip to Portugal and make my dream of becoming a 6 year old world kickboxing champion a reality.”
