GM says…
Watching last night’s match against Denmark, took me back to the 1960s/70s when the iconic terry Bly was manager of Grantham Town.
As the teams in possession passed the ball ever-backwards, I can hear him from his bench in the sky yelling “The **** goal is that way.
On the field of play, he never missed the target either kicking or heading. Okay, occasionally the goalkeeper go it the way, but one more than one occasion I saw the guarding ending up in the net clutching the ball.
As for the tackles, when I saw a red shirt go down in the traditional clutching of leg, face racked with pain and a roll over, I thought if Gerry had been the tackler, you wouldn’t be getting up so soon.
If only someone managing the England team would adopt Terry’s techniques, not only would we take the Eufa and World Cups, the rest of us would watch a far more entertaining game
