William Bradshaw (1911-1942)
WILLIAM George Bradshaw was the youngest son of Sir William and Lady Bradshaw, Bradshaw who was born at the family home on Harrowby Road Grantham.
He was educated at New Somerby (St Anne’s) School from where he won a scholarship to King’s School.
He was a keen sportsman and passionate about engineering, and got an apprenticeship with ero and motor makers Armstrong Siddeley.
Mr Bradshaw became sales manager for a major manufacturer at Carlisle before being appointed assistant assessment inspector based at Birmingham for a leading insurance company.
He gained a commission with the Royal Air Force and was serving in Egypt during the Second World War when he was killed in an accident.
He is buried at Heliopolis War Cemetery, Cairo.
