Over the last few weeks, Grantham Police have had several reports of bicycles being stolen in and around the Grantham area.
They are asking bicycle owners to be extra vigilant and ensure their bikes are secured with bike locks, or kept in a safe and secure place where possible.
If able to mark your bike with invisible ink, do so and write your surname, house number, post code and a phone number somewhere on your bike if possible.
It is also a good idea to make a note of any serial numbers on your bike, keep any receipts of purchase and remember a description of your bike, so that if your bike is stolen and recovered, p;olice are able to return it to its rightful owner.
If anyone would like a crime prevention safety pack including invisible marker pens that you can use to tag your property or have a security mark your bike, please contact Grantham police
There are only a limited number of security packs available.
If you have any information on any thefts, or need to report the theft of a bike you can do this by calling police on our non emergency number 101, or using the online reporting tool on the Lincolnshire Police website.
