Plans have been submitted to SKDC to turn the former Westgate Club into 27 residential units.
The club, accessed by a doorway next to no 95 and from Greyfriars has become derelict and vandalised since closing nearly five years ago.
Plans by Mr Rahul Patel of Leicester include the partial demolition and conversion of the former club and erection of two storey rear extension and roof extension into living accomation.
Last week, a 200-year-old building nearby was destroyed by fire.
The plans including turning the three storey building, the former dance hall into living space with an extension to the rear. The ballroom will be heightened to accommodate an extra storey.
