Police say they have taken reports of scam calls being made to the Grantham community and our more senior residents.
A number of reports have been made where a call has been received from a person purporting to be a DC from Grantham Police Station.
These calls are made by fraudsters. They will tell victim’s their bank accounts have been compromised. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking fraudsters have cleared the phone line. Here’s what to do to call the police and report the call safely:
✅ Hang up and wait a few minutes
✅ Call the police on 101 and your bank, using a separate line if possible
❌ Never give details, personal or financial over the phone and never withdraw money because you have been told to ‼️
