 We bid farewell to Barbara, who passed away peacefully on October 7th, aged 89, with her family by her side. Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose warmth and sense of fun brought joy to everyone who knew her. She had an encyclopaedic knowledge of plants, reflecting her deep connection to nature, both in the UK and in Australia. Her strong family ties to Australia were evident in her frequent travels there, where she cultivated many lasting friendships. Barbara’s love for the natural world was matched only by her love for her family, who will deeply miss her. We will hold on to the memories and the love she shared with us all. Grief is the price we all pay for love, and Barbara will forever remain in our hearts. Barbara’s funeral will take place at 12.30pm on Thursday 7th November 2024 at Grantham crematorium. Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Barbara are being collected for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, and can be given on the day.
