Fire crews from Billingborough and Donington attended Acre Lane, Threekingham, at lunchtime, where about 50 straw bales and a large quantity of manure were on fire. There was also heat damage to a nearby hedgerow. Firefighters used two hosereel jets and the farmer’s teleporter to extinguish the blaze.

Two Grantham calls out for firefighters
Grantham firefighters attended a controlled burn on Uplands Drive, Grantham, at 6pm yesterday. Due to excessive smoke, the crew used a hose reel to extinguish the fire. An hour later, they were called to a small grass fire on Sandon Close, Grantham. The crew used a beater and a water backpack to extinguish.
