Used to go in the “Beehive” when Sid was Mine host, when I was a daft teenager he stood no lip from no one decent chap.
Across the road became a trendy wine bar in the 70s never went in there a bit high brow for me, @ Greeves proberbly frequented the place wearing his bling might have fitted in quite well bless him.

Yeah Yeah remembered “Sid” & his Son! that was a young Sid lookalike! & the wine bar was far from “trendy” Just seen how you have turned out on here? you are very negative! & understand your usual apathy against that kind of place! & Oh yeah trust me some Wine bars are Awful! & even worse Clique you could not find! I actually got “thumped” in there……… Wine bar as you call it! & was saved by a couple of “Locals” I wont name as them that started at me? would definitely think twice about even goin there again? Not from me! by the way I was messin my self? But I guess I started it with my weird sense of humour & everyone including me leading it havin a great laugh! really a good laugh & these three or four picked on me haha! Jeez! & few I knew! well just 2 of them sorted it out? properly! Bit OTT really but saved my “Ass” bless em! “@ Winstons Cigar says” made me laugh haha when he just’ bantered a while then “weighed ” you up as! “Bit of a half glass full fella” …………. I never remembered you as being so Neg as you are on here! Oh well you started it’ Moan Moan Moan & you got everything we aspired for as a young un! & thats all young uns today trying to do? &Sure its going to be different to when we was! Cos they cant do it how we did Man FFS Its harder for a young un than our Day! But you would sit there “chattin Shize” how hard done our generation had it! We did not! I did in a way as I was a bit lonely! & roughed it at times! I all way’s worked, always saved’ Had wage packets months old on me! Sewn it to my jackets or where ever could be secure! Did not have a bank in case me not be able to get to my cash? I did eventually as we did! but it was not hard mate! Mum was Nurse then secretary! I did go a bit “Ferrall” but so was Dad! he worked everywhere & always brought money home! Kids now have it harder! They have loads going on! From mates Mums & dads being Rich to others that have to really “Grovel Man! I am talking “Food Banks” @ “Manthinker” ………….. Me nearly 70 now & I cannot remember the need for food banks for any of my mates! in the day? Hey some Mums & Dads of mates struggled! But nah never like today if you unfortunate to be’ “down & out” & yeah their parents’ our next past generation that was brought up by likes of us! We wanted them to strive like we did mate! & by the new way of governing us! “Short Term Greed” just stopped it! & Labour was just as like Tories mate! It went TITS! & look now! Genuine poverty & crime associated! Check out most crime docs etc , just look! All derived from mid 90s mate! & now we have to be careful what we say! I cannot even call my self! @ what we laughed at years ago! It worked! know one took much offence Mate! Yes there has allway’s been crime’ But nothin of how it is now’ Get A peado getting I dunno?? Greeves glad your up for it again, not been the same on hear without you banging on about you getting a good thrashing or you been a bit feral but anyway it’s a good post you have written. I don’t moan my old mate I tell it as it was and how it is, The young of today have not in most cases a bloody clue about life,.Im sick and tired to death of hearing them bleat about they can’t afford this or that, usually a deposit for a house or a new car, well how about this for a plan, they start to get realistic, forget the fancy iPhone and the contract at £50; a month, the car on lease at £150 a month and going out knocking back the wine and the beers. Forget jetting off to hell knows where for a holidayThey just might be able to do what I did, save up for a deposit for a house. Let them try setting their sights a little lower in the home ownerships stakes instead of a new one do what most of my generation did, get one to “do up”. For pity’s sake man I had at one point two bloody jobs to make ends meet and I didn’t go out at night and go drinking or out for a Chinese if I had bills to pay. People now believe they can have what they want when they want, it ain’t going to happen without a little restraint. You may have not noticed that not every young person can go to university or become a social media sensation some are destined to become just normal men and women, living hum drum lives, with all that entails.
OK point taken about the fact of Foodbanks, but get onto your local M.P. and bend his ear on that one not mine!! These are.a sign of the times because the bloody government has forsaken the population in its ambitious plans to stay in power, but one thing is for certain and that is I didn’t vote them into power.
What is the cause of all this misery? One simple answer GREED, landlords charge the earth for substandard slum housing knowing full well some poor sod will stump up the cash, the poor bugger renting is now faced with a stark choice “Do I pay rent or feed myself or my family” so he/ she hands over the extortionate rent and then has to go to the local food bank the landlord is now riding up and down in the trendy Mercedes do you think he will give that up without a fight, not on your life. All involved in the whole miserable process of overcharging people for a place to rest their heads should in my book spend the rest of their lives in the slammer.
Another cause of all this abstract misery is a good many jobs are on zero hours contracts, how the hell can people hope to get a home or be secure when certain employers are actively pushing people into a life of misery and in some cases destitution just so they can make even more profit
It’s an unjust world my friend but it’s not of my making, When I was younger I struggled to make ends meet, did without and got on with it, and yes things have changed and not for the better, building houses that the vast majority of people can’t afford only serves to satisfy the builder and his profits and to cause resentment from those who are looking into the shop window but can never go in and buy but that’s the way it is and will be so until this shower who occupies the seat of power realise their obligations to the people of this country., and if you wait for that to happen you will be waiting a hell of a long time.
Rant over now it’s your turn……

That’s your next project to bang on about, what does Manthinker eat to stay alive. Pick up your teddy and crack on me old son I’m relying on you, I’ll be lonely again which could have serious consequences for me.
I await your next banging on about me with interest 😜

We used to play 45’s on a dansette in the lounge. Pubs didn’t have juke boxes in those days…..
