Police are appealing for information following a serious assault on Harrowby Lane, Grantham, on Sunday, 31 December, at around 9.15am.
A man in his 60s suffered serious injuries, not believed to be life threatening. He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
A 74-year-old man, who was walking a black dog, has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He remains in custody and will be questioned in due course.
Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
