Trains through Grantham have been cancelled after a person has been hit by a train.
The East Coast Mainline ground to a halt this morning, Wednesday, November 6.
British Transport Police (BTP) attended the lines in Claypole just before 7am on Wednesday morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.
The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and officers will prepare a file for the coroner.
This is the second incident in two days
Yesterday a man in his 60s died on the tracks near to Grantham station.
British Transport Police officers were called to the station just after 7.30am on Tuesday (5th).
Paramedics pronounced the person dead at the scene. Again, there are no suspicious circumstances
Services are being cancelled, delayed or revised.
