Plans have been submitted to SKDC to return the former Pizza Hut, London Road, back into use.
The restaurant chain shut the Grantham branch last year and has remained closed since.
Now, Lionacre Properties is looking to turn the property – on the opposite corner to McDonalds – into a drive-through restaurant. The area is known locally as ‘Gainsborough Corner’.
It includes a drive-through lane cutting the current number of parking spaces by seven
It will operate as Taco Bell, an American-based chain of fast food restaurants which serves a variety of Mexican-inspired foods, that include: tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, novelty and specialty items, along with a variety of “value menu” items
Taco Bell is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc.
The Grantham proposal would create 15 fulltime jobs and 20 part-time. Taco Bell serves over two billion customers each year, at 7,072 restaurants, more than 93 percent of which are owned and operated by independent franchisees and licencees.
Pizza Hut opened in the early Noughties, on the site of the former Manners Arms pub.
