| In the church’s calendar today March 25, it signifies the visit of the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, during which he told her that she would be the mother of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. In nine months’ time we will celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day, and the Annunciation marks the actual incarnation of Jesus Christ – the moment that Jesus was conceived and that the Son of God became the son of Mary. At 7:30pm this evening a special service for the Annunciation of Our Lord to the Blessed Virgin Mary will be held at St Wulfram’s Church, Grantham.
