Former KGGS student Amy Hunt last night was awarded a silver medal for her part in the 4x100m relay.
Great Britain’s women claimed Olympic silver before the men’s team took bronze in two thrilling races at a rain-sodden Stade de France.
In June 2019, Amy rose to prominence when she ran in a 200m junior race in Mannheim, Germany, in what was her fifth competitive race outdoors at that distance. Her time of 22.42s was a new world record for Under-18 women.
She is an undergraduate at Cambridge.
Dina Asher-Smith, Imani Lansiquot, Amy Hunt and Daryll Neita had two tricky changeovers as the rain fell in Paris but Neita was superb on the anchor leg.
Britain clocked 41.85secs, with Germany third in 41.97.
The United States – without 100m champion Noah Lyles, who contracted Covid-19 earlier in the week – were disqualified for a faulty first changeover.
